Shawmut Joins the #GivingTuesday Movement

At Shawmut, we’re committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and we’re delighted to be joining others around the world for #GivingTuesday. Celebrated each December 1st, #GivingTuesday is a special call to action to create a global day of giving that brings diverse organizations and communities around the world together to give back. It celebrates generosity by providing people everywhere with an opportunity to give more, give smarter, and give great.

This year, #GivingTuesday marks the start of Shawmut’s annual holiday giving programs. For the past few years, Shawmut has been participating in the Toys for Tots toy drive as well as a food drive hosted by Printing Industries of New England (PINE). We are excited to not only participate in those programs again this year but to offer a company match for all employee donations. So that means, Shawmut can make an even bigger impact this year.

“Everyone at Shawmut has a big heart,” said Daniel Peluso, Vice President of Shawmut Communications Group. “Our employees are extremely generous, but not just during the holidays. Throughout the year, we look for ways to support local non-profits so we can continue to make an impact beyond #GivingTuesday and this holiday season.”

2016 Fundraising Program with RAW Art Works

This is certainly the case, for our upcoming 2016 partnership with RAW Art Works. Throughout the year, we’ll be inviting our clients and prospects to participate in a year-long fundraising campaign to support RAW and the future of our industry. Located in Lynn, MA, RAW Art Works has used the power of art to inspire thousands of young artists to tell their stories, envision new possibilities, and transform their lives. They serve more than 2,000 youth aged 7-21 and offer a variety of programs including visual arts groups, a print shop, film school, leadership development and teen employment.

At Shawmut, we believe that RAW’s programs are vital to the future of its industry. They get kids interested in working in print, marketing, and design. In fact, many of the students who graduate from RAW go on to art school, and we believe they may someday be our industry’s future marketers, designers, and print professionals.

Beginning in January, Shawmut will be asking our community to join us in supporting RAW’s vital programming. We’ll send out communications each quarter giving you an opportunity to learn more about RAW and get involved in the campaign. Each time someone participates by submitting an entry form or sharing on social media, Shawmut will donate to RAW—helping to support next generation of marketing and print professionals. So be on the lookout for materials to hit your mailboxes in early January and get ready to help us support RAW in 2016.
